Save Forests

Every tree that is planted soaks up many tons of carbon from the atmosphere while it grows. Large scale planting could buy us several decades to redesign our lifestyles in a long term effort to counter the greenhouse effect.

What now remains compared with what then existed is like the skeleton of a sickman, all fat and soft earth having wasted away, and only the bare framework of the land being left.

Never has the planet been more in need of forests.  Never have the forests been under greater pressure than they are today.

At present, some five billions tons of excess carbon find their way into the Earth's atmosphere every year.

Are Women's Really Free In India After 70 years of Independance?

Is this the way we want the world to see India's map? A land where women are not safe? When will women in India feel respected and fearlessly walk out of homes, in clothes that they feel like wearing?
From Indian Express:
"Union Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma on Sunday advised tourists not to wear skirts and refrain from going out alone at night in small towns. Responding to questions from the media about the safety of tourists in Agra during a press conference, Sharma said here, “…Paryatako ko, jab wo airport par aate hain, unko ek welcome kit di jaa rahi hai. Ek card hai usme, usme do’s and don’ts, kya karein aur kya na karein. Jaise chhoti chhoti batein hain, humne unhe bataya ke aap chhoti jagah par raat-waat ke time akele na niklein, skirts na pahnein… "........
My thanks to the unknown artist who made this sketch that I got as a forward!

Moisture

If there were no moisture or
carbon dioxide in the atmosphere
,the earth's average  temprature would only be- 18*C(0*F).
But the presence in the atmosphere
of small quantities of the above and
several other gases, helps to trap the sun's heat.
This natural insulation is vital to our survival. But the gases
involved seem to have increased during
 the last century,trapping more
heat and warming up the atmosphere.
The increase may be due to human
activities and the gases may well
double in concentration in the coming decades,
 with dire consequences.

Save Energy...

Whenever you save energy you not only save money, you also reduce the demand for such fossil fuels as coal, oil and natural gas. Less burning of such fuels means lower emission of carbon and thus less global warming.

                               Some save energy tips.

1.     Turn off light and appliances, when not in use

2.     Use energy saving bulbs.

3.     Use rechargeable batteries instead of disposable one.

4.     Change your travel behaviours, think more in terms of public transport, or if possible walk or ride bicycle instead of taking the car.

Support Your Environment…

In one day, the sun provides more energy than our population could use in 27 years. Promote and make use of solar energy, it doesn’t pollute and its free.
At children’s parties don’t let balloons fly away. they can end up in a lake or ocean, where a sea animal might choke on them.
Organic foods are grown without pesticides and chemical fertilizers a healthier option not only for you, but also the planet.
By planting a garden in your locality, students can learn about the connection between what they eat and where it comes from, while getting hands on experience in planting, digging and cultivating.
Teach people, spread awareness about going green.
